Water Operators’ Partnerships for South East Europe (WOP-SEE) is a network of partners working to facilitate WOPs in South East Europe. Our overall goal is to make it easier, and more rewarding, for utilities to learn from one another on a not-for-profit basis.
WOP-SEE Business Plan finalized
In conjunction with the "4th International Conference on Water Loss Reduction in Water Supply Systems" organized in November 2011 in Sofia, Bulgaria, by the Bulgarian Water Association, WOP-SEE Steering Committee meeting took place. During the meeting WOPs strategy for the period 2012-2014 was discussed and supported by the Steering Committee.
New IT social platform for utility professionals:
Global Water Operators Partnerships Alliance launched a social networking platform, the Pipeline that enables direct on-line exchange between water utility professionals. Professionals can meet peers, engage in exchange with other professionals, create groups and forums around specific topics, announce events and share documents. In addition, utilities will be able to seek well performing utilities in their own areas for improvement and ask from GWOPA to facilitate potential partnerships.

Water Loss Europe 2012 is intended to present and discuss the latest developments, strategies, techniques and applications of international best practices in Non-Revenue Water Management.
The Conference is the first regional event following a series of successful IWA water loss reduction speciality conferences, like "Water Loss 2010" that was held in Sao Paulo, Brazil in June 2010 with 630 participants from more than 30 different countries from around the world.
Water Loss Europe 2012 was brought to Europe to address the pressing need for improved water utility efficiency in this part of the world.
The Organizer: IWA Water Loss Specialist Group
In 1997 the International Water Association (IWA) embarked on an initiative to standardize water utility performance indicators. As part of this initiative, the Water Loss Task Force (WLTF) was established. The mandate of the WLTF was to reach international consensus on a standard water balance form and terminology and develop and recommend water loss performance indicators. The WLTF was a small group of water utility professionals from around the world and was chaired by Allan Lambert (UK). After this initial work was completed the WLTF broadened its activities by working on international best practice concepts and methodologies for water loss management.
The Hosts
Being aware of the importance of efficient Non-Revenue Water Management and appreciating the excellent work done by the IWA Water Loss Specialist Group (WLSG), conference Hosts have joined forces to bring this prestigious conference to Italy.
They are fully committed to make Water Loss Europe 2012 a successful event in this series of Water Loss conferences and ensure that all participants will be able to experience Italian hospitality!
